Thanks Gayla Peevey and Joe Bonsall

Young Gayla PeeveyThe Oak Ridge BoysWe here at Countdown2.Christmas Radio could not be more thankful for two people right now: Gayla Peevey (of “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas” fame) and Joe Bonall (of…well…The Oak Ridge Boys fameĀ :-)).

We reached out to Gayla because, each week during our live program (6PM Mountain every Sunday, more here), we always have a request for “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas” from Chloe, a faithful, young listener from New Hampshire. So, thanks to Gayla’s kindness, Chloe will always know thatĀ the singer of her favorite Christmas tune took time to dedicate the song to her:

Hi, I’m Gayla Peevey, and here is my hit, “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas,” for Chloe and every child at heart on Countdown2.Christmas Radio.

As for Joe Bonsall, I have been blessed by being a follower of him (and also The Oak Ridge Boys) on Twitter, so a couple days back I asked them what the best way to request an intro was. Their response was immediate, and today I have three intros from Joe. Here’s one:

Hi, this is Joe Bonsall with The Oak Ridge Boys, and you are listening to Countdown2.Christmas Radio where, like The Oak Ridge Boys, they celebrate the Reason for the Season.

To be honest, I almost don’t know what to say. Both are busy. Both are popular. I’m just some ordinary guy in a small high plains town…

And both jumped right on bringing more Christmas cheer to Countdown2.Christmas Radio’s listeners.

That’s ’cause they have the spirit of Christmas in their hearts…which is the true “secret of Christmas.”

Thanks Gayla. Thanks Joe. God bless you both and Merry Christmas!

(And the same to Kathy, who works with The Oak Ridge Boys and helped organize the liners.)
